Aberfoyle & Kinlochard Wedding Photographer in Stirlingshire
Lynsey and Mike decided to make their highland wedding special by getting married outdoors next to Loch Drunkie near Aberfoyle. They met at Uni and their love persisted until they decided to name the day. They wanted their day to be different, and as outdoor people they wanted to get married somewhere which is very important to Lynsey and Mike – which was Aberfoyle.
The preparations took place at the MacDonald Forest Hills Hotel, near Aberfoyle. And then the fun started with a convoy driving about 20 minutes north or Aberfoyle to Loch Drunkie. This is where Mike proposed to Lynsey, and where they wanted to get married – in the forest over looking this beautiful loch. Lynsey’s bridesmaids were dressed in summer dresses and matching pink cardigans and wellingtons, and all the bouquets were made from different colours linens. Lynsey arrived though the forest, in her ivory dress and white wellingtons, and then Lynsey and Mike were married at their most favourite place on the planet.
After another convoy back to Aberfolye, we then headed to the Kinlochard Village Hall where the rest of the day was going to be held. Overlooking Loch Ard, it was the perfect location for their Highland wedding. The main room was dressed in lots of vibrant colour, all home-made, and all with wool and paper. It was almost a carnival atmosphere, and just how Lynsey and Mike wanted to to be. After the photography, the speeches and meal, Lynsey and Mike cut their cake – which was a cheesecake – made with four layers of cheese. After their first dance, the evening took off with a swirl of kilts and a ceilidh. As I was leaving, it was getting dark and the evening was silent – except for the sounds of cheers and the ceilidh band playing into the night. An incredible Highland wedding.
