An Intimate Summer Wedding at Dalnair Castle Lodge Stirlingshire
Robert visited Glasgow about 15 years ago. He came along with his friend with regards to overseeing some work and thought it was nothing more than a few days away from the office. In the evening they thought they would go out to explore Glasgow’s nightlife and during the evening Robert saw this lovely brunette lady across the room. Their eyes met, they smiled and he plucked up the courage to go over and say hello – and that was it. He was hooked…!
Fifteen years later they decided to get married, and they chose to have a small and intimate ceremony at Dalnair Castle Lodge on the Dalnair Estate, near Loch Lomond. When I arrived Robert was looking quite relaxed and cool, despite it being one of the hottest days of the year so far. He looked immaculate in his blue jacket, grey trousers, blue waistcoat and brown shoes. Robert is definitely a man of immense style. His buttonhole was based on Debbie’s bouquet, which was one of pale and blue flowers.
Going upstairs to catch the final moments of Debbie getting ready, I found her being helped by Sienna, their oldest daughter. Besides being the main helper and bridesmaid, Sienna was also today’s ring-bearer. Debbie looked stunning in her dress. Finished in white embroider with a flesh undertone, it was a long white trumpet style dress with a low back. It was stunning and she looked stunning too. Debbie finished off the ensemble with simple white pearls on her neck and wrist.
They were getting married outside on the decking behind the Lodge House and the Registrar was Lynne Steele from the Balfron Registrar Office, who always brings the sunshine with her. And as Debbie walked down the stairs and towards we didn’t really need any sunshine to brighten up the occasion as Debbie did that for us. Robert looked stunned, and for a moment he was truly lost for words. With their youngest daughter Esme looking on, and Sienna bearing the rings, Debbie and Robert were married under the Scottish sunshine, finishing the ceremony with a hand-fasting using a cream and pale blue tie that Debbie had woven herself.
Afterwards we had a small cake cutting and then they all posed for pictures in the garden and outside the Castle Lodge, including some pictures on the swing in the garden. The sun was shining exceptionally bright on this day in Stirlingshire, but the sun was even brighter in the garden of Dalnair Castle Lodge – with the love that was shared and is still growing between Debbie and Robert.
