Culcreuch Castle Wedding Photographer – Katerin & Dennis

Katerin and Dennis are from Schwentinental in the eastern part of Germany. They love Scotland and drive here every year for walking holidays around Loch Lomond and the Highlands. When Dennis asked Katerin to make their love permanant, where better to get married than the place they love – Scotland.

With just Katerin’s Mum and Dad plus her daughter, it was just the five of them for their wedding at Culcreuch Castle. Even though it was an intimate wedding, they still made the ceremony as Scottish as they could, with Neil the Piper who looked splendid in his piping uniform, and Scot AnSgeulaiche, who is a humanist celebrant who consucts his ceremonies in an ancient Scottish way.

After Neil piped Katerin and Dennis into the ceremony room, Scot carried out the ceremony, finalising with a Fear an Taigh – which is a natural continuation of tradition after a Handfasting ceremony. After the ceremony there was some canapes and some pictures, and even though it was truly wet outside, I still managed to get Katerin and Dennis ooutside for a few pictures – complete with umberellas.

Despite the rain, which I suppose is to be expected if you come to Scotland, Katerin and Dennis had a wonderful day. It was full of love and tradition, values that Katerin and Dennis hold close to their hearts – as well as Scotland. I wish you love light and peace…
