Kirsty & Natasha celebrate their love by getting married at the Strathclyde Hilton near Glasgow
This is Kirstie and Natasha and when I met them several months before their wedding I just happened to have a camera with me – so I took their picture. Its a conversation opener I suppose, but I always like to meet a couple beforehand whenever its possible as it breaks the ice and it lets us get to know each other a bit better.
They decided to get married at the Hilton Strathclyde, which is a perfect wedding venue. It has the reception rooms for the day and for the evening, and all the guests can stay over if they want to. It was also handy for all their family and friends in Motherwell. They both decided to wear white dresses. Kirstie’s was backless and had delicate straps to hold up the dress. Natasha’s was also open back, but with lace and diamanté straps. She also decided to wear a tiara. She looked lovely once she was ready, and so did Kirstie.
There was alot of emotion flowing during the ceremony, with tears, but also alot of smiles. It takes alot of effort and determination to get to the point where two people exchange rings at a same sex wedding, so tears are only natural. It was the perfect ceremony for two lovely ladies who are very much in love. The Registrar was from Motherwell, and the overall theme was purple, and to their credit, the hotel adjusted the room lighting to give off a purple glow.
Afterwards there was the usual group photo’s and then portraits of the ladies. The Hilton Strathclyde has its own garden at the rear, which was easy and convenient for the wedding photography. Plus, there’s a small bridge for those posed shots – which for a photographer, its hard to fail to get a good picture with this wee bridge. Then it was the speeches – with tears and laughter – and then the first dances, which went off with a bang with some serious dance floor boogy-ing. Its was a wonderful day for two lovely ladies who looked so beautiful on this special day. I wish them a long and happy life together.
