Karen and Stuart are from Montrose. They grew up in Montrose and started going out together and before long their love grew and then they decided to become one. Which was easier said than done because they had planned hard and long to get married in Cyprus with lots of their family and friends to help them on their way.
Unfortunately, Covid put an end to that, and they had to cancel their wedding. They’re still determined to get out to Cyprus, and that’s where they’re going to have their honeymoon next year, but in the meantime they still wanted to get married.
Not knowing when lockdowns are going to start or end, or even which zone anyone is going to be in next week or even next year, they still wanted to get married so decided to book a nice hotel, a celebrant and a photographer – and have an intimate wedding with just the two of them.
Which is what they did. So on a blistering hot day Karen and Stuart were married in an outside ceremony at the Lodge on Loch Lomond. The ceremony was officiated by Andy McSorley, who is a humanist celebrant and covers central Scotland with his smile and meaningful words, and with a twinkle in his eye he brought big smiles to Karen and Stuart as he made their lives become one.
With the exchange of ringes and the ceremony over, Karen and Stuart hada celebratory glass of cool, sweet wine, then we venutued down the Loch for some pictures before it was time for Karen and Stuart to enjoy a meal and romantic evening overlooking the bonnie nnabks of Loch Lomond.
