Natalya & Alastair’s Intimate Wedding at the Lodge on the Loch

Natalya and Alastair live and work in Manchester and besides loving each other – they also love Scotland – so it was only natural that when they decided to get married they wanted to get married in Scotland. And what special place did they choose for their wedding…? Well, it had to be Loch Lomond…!

They didnt want a lot of fuss so there was just five of us for this most imtimate of weddings: the five of us being Natalya and Alastair, Natalya’s parents, Jane McGregor (the Argyle & Bute Registrar) and then me. The ceremony took place on the balcony of their hotel room, and although the weather wasn’t too kind, the balcony did provide enough shelter to let the wedding take place and after the ceremony they both let off a balloon with their names on it to let their love fly over the loch…

The mariage certificate was signed on the coffee table in the hotel room – which was a new exerience for me – and then afterwards Natalya’s Mum suddenly appeared with a cake. Natalya is from Eastern Europe and it is a tradition in their country that the Bride and Groom both take a bite of the cake and whoever takes the biggest bite will then be in charge of the marriage. Well, in order to keep peace and harmony I am going to keep quiet about this, but suffice to say, I think Alastair did put up a fair fight…

Afterwards we tried to get ouside for some pictures but were beaten back by the elements so we finished off with a few pictures inside the hotel before we all went our seperate ways. Its was a beautiful and imatimate way to get married and I wish them a long and happy life together.
