A wedding day at Cameron House & Loch Lomond

Gillian and Stewart are both doctors, and have sometimes, then two doctors are in love, then only prognosis for this – is to get married. Their hospital for this day was Cameron House on the banks of Loch Lomond. The day started off okay, but then it started raining and got progressively worse as the day went on. One of those wet summer days that we so frequently suffer in Scotland. But, that didn’t stop the day, didn’t stop the wedding and definitely didn’t stop the smiles.

Officiating was the local legend that is the Revd Iain Miller, who not only offers wise words of wisdom, he also does it in good humour and makes the day even better than it already is. Gillian wore a simple wedding dress with a long veil and Stewart work a kilt, with his groomsmen all wearing matching tartan.

After the camp’s we got some group pictures in the breakfast room of Cameron House and then for the newlyweds portraits, I took the couple on a quick tour of the inside of Cameron House for pictures. Okay, its raining outside, but that’s really not going to stop me taking some great pictures of the couple. And I did…! Cameron House has some remarkable places inside which are just perfect for pictures of newlyweds.

The couple had arranged a band (which was the size of an orchestra, really) for the evening reception, and after the first dance of the newlyweds and bridal party, the evening went off with a big bang with a loud, fast and very up-tempo Ceilidh. legs, arms and kilts everywhere and it was a joy to behold. It was a lovely day. And even though it rained ALL day, it still didn’t stop the smiles, then fun and most of all, a very romantic day.
