Corinthian Club Glasgow Wedding – Ralph & Jordan
Ralph and Jordan live and work in London. They met one evening, got chatting, decided to meet again and then that was it. They were hooked. After a long while of being the best of friends, there was only one thing left they could to to take their relationship to the next level – and to get married. Ralph is from the Midlands and Jordan is from Glasgow, and as Jordan has a large family they decided that they would get married in Glasgow, which was fortunate because Ralph loves Glasgow.
Ralph and Jordan are very stylish men so they wanted a stylish venue for their day, and they chose the Corinthian Club in Glasgow for their wedding – which is in the epicentre of everything stylish in Glasgow. Ralph and Jordan arrived together, both wearing very smart suits, with Ralph’s being in cream and Jordan’s being in pale blue. Uber cool…!
They walked down the aisle to the song that was played for the opening of the London Olympics, which they both participated, so the song meant a lot to them. With a humanist celebrant for the ceremony, they were married in one of the large upper rooms in the Corinthian Club. After the ceremony there was canapé’s in the upper gallery, and after that we shot the groups on the staircase in the club. For the portraits I took Ralph and Jordan outside to the nearby MOMA, where they received a round of applause from onlookers as I got them to walk around the outside of the gallery. Afterwards I shot a few more pictures on Ingram Street and then got them to stand in the road outside the Corinthian Club for a few final pictures – dodging the busses and taxi’s.
After the cake cutting and the wedding breakfast, the stage was set for the evening. The main room was romantically lit by candle-light coming from candelabra’s on each table, and accompanied by a seven piece band, Ralph and Jordan serenaded each other and the whole room by singing a duet, which was beautiful. After their duet they had their first dance and then to get the evening moving, Ralph led the way with a dance – the SLOSH – which is still a hidden secret in Glasgow. Within minutes the floor was packed as they all moved in unison, sloshing away.
This truly was a wonderful wedding day in many ways. The guests, the opulence of the Corinthian, but most of all, by Ralph and Jordan themselves – two of the warmest and loveliest guys you could ever meet. It certainly was a pleasure to be their photographer and I wish them all the love in the world for the future.
