Culag Wedding Photographer at Loch Lomond

Melanie and Paul brought the sunshine with them when they decided to get married at Culag. Melanie and Paul are from Dublin, and of all the places to get married – Dublin, Ireland or the rest of the world – they chose to have their special day in Scotland and hold their ceremony against the sun-kissed shores of Loch Lomond. From chatting to Melanie, I think the easiest part of the whole thing was actually organising the wedding itself – dress flowers and things like that. The hardest part was organising the family and guests, as they came from many places.

The day was perfect. Warm and sunny with a big blue sky. Although Melanie wanted to wear a wedding dress, she chose simplicity and wore a simple but perfect ivory dress for her wedding. Less is more, as they say – and less was more as she looked lovely. As for everyone else, the dress code was completely casual as Melanie and Paul wanted it to be a family day instead of something formal. With Melanie looking lovely in her ivory dress, and Paul looking very laid back in his sunglasses and white shirt, the bridesmaids looked beautiful in their yellow dresses. And what a perfect colour for a summer day. Bright, colourful and vibrant.

Malanie, Paul and their entourage had completely taken over Culag, which is located on the west shore of Loch Lomond. And with stunning views across the loch to Ben Lomond and the National Park, it was the perfect place for a getaway wedding, and with the warm and sunny air being filled by the melodic sounds of a harpist, a local humanist celebrant brought Melanie and Paul together by finishing the ceremony with a hand fasting.

After the ceremony and then lots of pictures, Melanie, Paul and their guests enjoyed canapés under the Scottish sunshine accompanied by a guitarist, and with a sumptious wedding breakfast under a glass canopy, and as the sun started to set over Loch Lomond they enjoyed an open air BBQ in the evening. At most weddings the venue plays an important part in the day, and Culag played an vital part as it let Melanie and Paul enjoy their perfect day – relaxed, sun-kised and full of happy memories.
