Testimonials and Kind Words

My aim is to please and to make sure you receive everything you expect from my wedding photography, so I've included some of the nice words that some of my previous couples insisted I show on my website. So here are a few testimonials...

Ross Priory

We said our vows at Luss Parish Church and partied afterwards at Ross Priory. Before the big day everyone said that the day will pass quickly and that we should stand back and take a moment to absorb the atmosphere and remember. We did indeed try to take it all in, but for all those special moments we didn't catch, thankfully Ian did!! Ian has captured our wedding day perfectly, he was so professional and yet easy to work with, he easily made us laugh making for great pictures. He went above and beyond and highly exceeded our expectations and we would strongly recommend Ian to anyone. Once again, we thank you Ian, for capturing our wedding day in such a way that we can look back through the photos and smile again.

Knockderry House

We were married at the Knockderry Hotel in December and used Ian Arthur as the photographer. We just wanted to let you know how very pleased we are with the photographs and service. Ian was fantastic on the day and we have some beautiful photographs and also a great DVD of the day which has been put together professionally and will be a fantastic reminder of our special day for years to come. We also have copies for both our families which is well worth the fees charged. I cannot recommend Ian highly enough to you for any of your future weddings where the couples need a photographer. This is a special and important part of any wedding and he was excellent in both service and quality.

We were absolutely delighted with your warmth and genuine passion for what you do right from the first meeting we had. We interviewed many photographers before making our decision and were impressed by your willingness to show us samples of your work which really allowed us to get a feel for your style. On the day you were unobtrusive but captured the whole story of the day. All our guests commented on your friendly energetic approach but said they didn’t feel bored by long sessions as they have at other weddings. My only regret is that we never asked you to take a picture of the food (we spent such a long time choosing the perfect dishes). Overall we couldn’t be happier with the end product we have and feel it was money well spent. I actually have to remind Colin that our friends and family have already seen the album and watched the DVD as he pulls them out every time we have people over! Thanks so much for giving us a wonderful memory of our perfect day.

Craigrownie Castle

Ian exceeded all of the expectations we desired in a wedding photographer. Ian catered to our requests to create a unique wedding package that was designed to fit our special event. Ian’s photography captured all of the special moments of our wedding day to take back and share with our friends and family members in the USA. Ian has a true gift of capturing special moments on film, but just as innate is his ability to make the wedding party comforttable and relaxed resulting in natural and unstaged memoirs. We love you, Ian. We will cherish our wedding pictures forever. Not only did we find a world class photographer in Ian Arthur but also a lifelong kindred spirit across the Atlantic.

Thank you so much for our amazing wedding pictures. Everyone that’s seen them have said how fantastic they are! They’re all so good its hard to choose some for an album. The slideshows are excellent, and the DVD’s are presented beuatifully. We really appreciated the quick turnaround of the pictures and we would recommend you to anyone.

Claire and Michael, Yorkshire

The Lochside Hotel

I’ve known Ian in his professional capacity as a photographer for a couple years and had no hesitation in choosing him to take our wedding pictures. Ian is really friendly, approachable and great to work with. After disucssing what we were looking for from the pictures before wedding, he made us feel at ease and relaxed on what can be a busy and nerve wracking (but wonderful at the same time!) day. Ian was good at capturing the posed bridal party and family shots as well as the informal ‘reception’ and ‘guests enjoying themselves’ shots – his pictures really tell the story of how our wedding day unfolded. What was also good was the fact that we had some pre wedding portraits taken and these could also be included in our final album. We were really pleased with the finish and quality of our wedding album and loved the different versions of the slideshow dvd that he produced for us.

Gillian and Chris, Glasgow

Blytheswood Square Hotel, Glasgow

Neither of us had ever had any professional photographs taken before, so we were a little apprehensive, but the pre-portrait day helped us to see how things were done and discuss exactly what we wanted for our wedding day. Ian is personable, competent and very efficient – he quickly put family and guests at ease on the big day with his sense of humour. I have no hesitation is recommending Ian Arthur to anyone as the beautiful results spoke for themselves.

The House for an Art Lover, Glasgow

We still can’t get over our wedding pictures and our picture book. We live in Australia and came back to Scotland for all the families so finding a photographer was going to be difficult, especially as you hear so many bad things about photographers. Ian came highly recommended to us so we booked him, and on reflection we are so happy now that he was our photographer as he took amazing pictures all day. The wedding book he designed for us was also beyond our expectations and I’ve never seen one as good as this, either before or after, and all our friends keep saying how wonderful the storybook is. All my friends want to book him, but he’s just too far away for them, so maybe they’ll get married in Scotland… Ian, all we want to say is a massive thank you for making our wedding complete.

Melville Castle, Edinburgh

Thank you for our fantastic wedding album, the photos are beautiful and are a perfect reminder of the day. We didn’t even notice you were there for most of the time and were surprised and delighted at all the special moments you managed to capture.

Jane and Ian, Edinburgh

Strathblane Country House, Renfrewshire

Ian really went the extra mile to capture the story of our wedding day. He was always professional and patient; and his friendly, gentle nature put everyone at ease. Our wedding album is full of beautiful photographs that we’ll cherish always. Thanks Ian!!

Loch Lomond Waterfront, Loch Lomond

"We wanted to say a massive thank you for our storybook and everything else too. The book is absolutely gorgeous, I am in love with it! It was great receiving it in time for Christmas to share with our friends and family who are all very impressed. Now that the wedding is just a memory we couldn't be happier with the photographs which we can cherish forever and remember our day. Everyone agrees your enthusiasm and dedication on the day made you the perfect photographer and what we have received is incredible value for money. We honestly can't thank you enough for your hard work and commitment to making our wedding special, it is so appreciated".

Luss, Loch Lomond

We were delighted with our wedding pictures. Ian was professional, hard-working and we couldn’t have asked for him to spend any more time or effort on making our wedding pictures perfect.

Annalise and Craig, Luss

Craighouse Edinburgh

Ian did a wonderful job of our wedding. He captured the day perfectly and we have the most wonderful photographs. He made us feel 100% comfortable and on our wedding he captured the essence of the day in a series of natural shots. We could not have been happier. I would recommend him to all my friends and family.

We wouldn’t think twice about suggesting you to our friends. From the outset you were so helpful. What made you stand put from other photographers was your lovely email when we first contacted you. It was nice to get a more personal response. Neither of us are very keen at getting out pictures taken and I certainly don’t tend to like being too much in the centre of attention. It was great being able to meets few months before for our pre wedding shoot so we could all get to know each other. They also made nice Xmas presents for our mums! At the wedding you were great; from helping me walk in the snow to putting up with endless requests from our friends and family. A number of our guests commented on how polite you were. It was nice that getting our pictures taken didn’t seem to take us away from our guests for hours. You really fitted round our day rather than us around you. We were delighted with our pictures. We were so excited to see them and enjoyed spending time looking at them when we were on our honeymoon. We opted for the more traditional Albums Australia and were and still are delighted with it. The quality was great and we didn’t have to wait the months and months some of our friends had to for their albums. The quality of the additional prints we bought were great and now that we’ve eventually framed them, the look fantastic in our living room. We had such a great wedding day and you really helped with making it such a success. Thanks.
