Portrait photography for singles, couples, families, birthdays, engagements, special occasions, pets or equine.
Capturing your moment in time.
Creative Portrait Photography
Whatever the age and whatever the occasion I would love to be your photographer – to photograph those smiles, the occasion, the look of love or the coming together of generations. Although I enjoy studio photography, I don’t work in a studio as I prefer to work outdoors and on-location to take my portrait photographs. The portrait sessions lasts around an hour and includes lots of photography to capture the occasion and capture the moment.
You choose the location...
Would you like to visit Loch Lomond to have your picture taken? Its beautiful, and I know some really nice places for portrait photography. Or if you prefer having your picture taken in the city, then we could meet in Glasgow, maybe in a park or the city centre. Or would you prefer the pictures at home, or somewhere special to you? If you would like me to travel a bit further to photograph your portraits, then I am more than happy to do so – but it will cost a little bit extra to cover my travel.
PORTRAITS THAT CAPTURE PEOPLE
I've been photographing people for over 30 years, so I know people fairly well. I also know when people are a bit nervous about having their pictures taken - a bit like me - which is why I make my picture taking as relaxed as possible to get the best out of you.
It would be really easy for me to turn up and tell you to stand here, stand there and just take some pictures, but portraits are a bit more than that. Before the portrait shoot I like to have a chat first, to say hi as well as giving us the opportunity to get used to each other. And when the moment is right, we'll go and shoot some pictures. I take lots of pictures during a portrait session - not because of 'safety in numbers', but to give you a genuine choice when it comes to selecting the best pictures for choosing prints or canvasses.
I also photograph special occasions, such as family get-togethers, and besides the obvious picture opportunities I also use my observational skills to capture those candid moments - people laughing, talking, interacting - because sometimes a picture can say a lot more than words.
An hour of photography, outdoors or at your home in Helensburgh, Loch Lomond or Glasgow. With several portfolio options, the photography session includes as much photography as we can fit into the hour, with all your edited pictures available in an online gallery a few days later where you can share the pictures for viewing with family and friends or even buy digital files, prints, canvasses or acrylic frames.
